Calendar Blessing

Erik came home from fire drill tonight with a calendar page. It's the page from Misty's calendar for the 17th of March with this quote : "I came out of the womb a diva. All it means is that you know your worth as a woman." -Cyndi Lauper
Oh Mod, that you would know your worth as a woman!

Good Morning

Today is going so much better than yesterday and it's only 8:30 in the morning! Mod basically slept through the night (10:30pm till 5am) so I got sleep. Erik not only did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen he made breakfast this morning and the kiddos haven't been fighting nearly as much. They've been playing hide-n-seek and losing each other all morning.
We tried Clayton in his big boy bed again, it only took one spanking and he made it through the night in his own bed. He also took a nap in it yesterday. My hopes are up that this might work but it's only been two days...I think he likes being able to get out when he's done sleeping.
Oh, and I got more rock moved yesterday. I got my path in the backyard outlined with all the big rocks and one wheelbarrow load moved and dumped to fill it in. Then I decided I probably shouldn't overdo it...
We have no plans for today and it's raining.

Morning Blahs

We tried Clayton in a "big-boy" bed last night. He stayed in and fell asleep after only 3 spankings and was fine until about 3am when I woke to hear him screaming. I tried to lay him back down in bed and was answered with, "owie, owie, owie, no, no!!!". I didn't want to deal with it and I needed to feed Mod so I put him in bed with us and he spent the rest of the "night" trying to push me off the bed. Not literally trying to push me off the bed but he is quite a restless, wriggly sleeper. I think I will put the play pen back up today and we'll try again later. Erik then got up this morning to go work out so he wasn't here to pacify the kiddos with bananas and apples when they got, thus I was awoken with sounds of fighting much earlier than normal. I am sitting and drinking coffee this morning and trying not to be grumpy while the kiddos are watching Veggie Tales. I am also feeling the desire to do another play...I think simply for the fact that it's a guaranteed mommy break where I don't have to take a kiddo with me or I'm not tempted to spend money. What's a person to do after 7pm around here that doesn't take money? For that matter, is there anything even open?

Walks

Last night Erik and I took the kiddos on a walk around the block, my first since Mod was born. Hannah and Ivan rode their bikes, Clayton was in the stroller and Mod was riding in the sling. Matt drove by with Pastor John and we stopped to say Hi, and as we were doing so Matt's mother pulled up behind him. Then somewhere behind me I heard what sounded like water hitting the ground and I turned around to find Ivan with his pants around his knees peeing in someone's yard, in front of God and everybody. It was quite hilarious. I just turned my back and laughed but if he does that when he gets a little older we'll have a problem...

Bragging just a little.

I have 3/4 of my children sleeping and the 1/4 that is not is coloring nicely at the table, I have an idea for dinner and I got dishes done and all our paperwork that clutters my computer area filed...I'm feeling quite accomplished today though I am quickly running out of energy. Hmmm...I might go eat a cookie and have a cup of tea.

Kindergarten?

I almost had a mini panic attack yesterday...I started filling out the application for the Oregon Virtual Academy for Hannah. I'm going to have a kindergartner! I was looking up the ORVA website for a friend yesterday and noticed that they are taking applications for the 09-10 school year and that space is limited to 600 students total for grades k-8 and thus was "forced" into confronting the fact that Hannah is old enough for school and that I needed to do something about it pronto. I filled out the online application and now I have to collect all the other docs. that I need to finish the application, like birth certificate and record of immunizations or in my case I have to sign a "religious/philosophical exemption" form because we do not immunize our children. I also have to get permission from the school district here to enroll Hannah in another school. It's an online school and yet I still have to give emergency contacts and prove that she's "immunized" even though she will not be in a regular classroom and will be at home with me...go figure.
I don't know if I'm ready for all of this!
